Deputy Governor of Jakarta for Spatial Planning and Environment; Chief Resilience Officer, Resilient Jakarta

Holding Master Degree in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Pittsburgh and Ph.D in Public Economics from the University of Indonesia, Oswar Muadzin Mungkasa started his career as a government official in 1992 after experiencing life as a banker.

Prior to the appointment as Deputy Governor of Jakarta for Spatial Planning and Environment in November 2015, Mr. Mungkasa held several key managerial posts at the central government of Indonesia. Mr. Mungkasa was appointed as the Director of Planning and Budgeting at the Ministry of Housing from 2010 to 2013 and as the Director of Spatial Planning and Land at the National Development Planning Agency (Bappenas) from 2013 to 2015.

Mr. Mungkasa also act as the Chief Resilience Officer (CRO) of Jakarta Berketahanan (Resilient Jakarta) whose responsibility is to ensure the coordination and formulation of Jakarta Resilient Strategy Document. Had already launched 5 (five) grand designs to tackle main issues in Jakarta through a collaborative approach, Mr. Mungkasa is also the key person who initiated various collaboration between the government of DKI Jakarta and other stakeholders in search of a better comprehensive urban development.
