I am an interdisciplinary system thinker, who passionately believes that: the primary purpose of Infrastructure is to drive the realisation of societally beneficial outcomes for the population it serves. That it cannot fulfil its primary purpose in the long term unless: it is resilient to the disruptive impacts of climate change and other strategic challenges; aims to enhance the quality of the local environment; and support an urgent transformation to a net zero GHG emission economy. All of which will require a profound systemic re-evaluation of the outcomes we expect infrastructure to enable, how we govern, regulate, manage (including plan, design, procure, construct, operate, maintain, account for, value and incentivise investment in), and measure the performance and value of Infrastructure. I currently have the privilege of working as a Senior Research Associate for the Co-ordination Node of the UK Collaboratorium for Research into Infrastructure and Cities (UKCRIC www.ukcric.com ) and before that for the International Centre for Infrastructure Futures (ICIF).
